The museum is open on Thursday and Saturday between April and October from
10.00 to 16.00.
Admission is free and special opening times can be arranged

This small volunteer-run museum in the town of Guisborough focuses on the
town’s social, agricultural and commercial history. The museum displays
a wealth of artefacts and photographs unique to the town and its people. Of particular
note are the photographs taken by the Guisborough photographer, George Page,
at the turn of the last century.

The Moors Centre is the North Yorkshire Moors National Park flagship visitor
centre, set in an idyllic spot on the banks of the River Esk. From the doorstep,
you can see pretty much everything that makes the North York Moors National Park
so special: moorland, woodland, farmland, miles of hedges and drystone walls,
historic buildings – all
basking in glorious peace and quiet.
The Centre has recently been refurbished from top to bottom. There are loads
of fun and fascinating things to see and do, inside and out, and admission
is absolutely FREE.

Ayton Castle -
The first 'castle' to occupy this site was built by William de Aton from whose
family the nearby village takes its name. The present fortified tower house was
built by Ralph Eure (c.1400). Access free of charge. View from field. MAP
Cawthorn Roman Camps -
In 1999 and 2000 Centre for Archaeology (CfA) undertook excavations on what is
one of the most enigmatic sites of Roman Britain. The excavation started as a
joint project between CfA and the North York Moors National Park Authority (NYMNP)
who own the site and open it to the public. MAP
Cropton Castle -
Commanding an excellent defensive position, overlooking Rosedale, Cropton Castle
was built of wood by Robert de Stuteville. Today eartworks of the motte and bailey
remain. MAP
Skelton Tower - Built in the early 19th
Century by the Reverend Robert Skelton of Levisham as a folly. It is thought
that he used it as an over-night lodging when out shooting on Levisham Moor,
or perhaps he used the magnificent views when looking for inspiration for writing
his sermons. MAP
Wheeldale Roman Road - grid ref. SE806975 - English Heritage
- Emergency Information! During winter due to heavy
snowfall in this area, visitors are advised to use extreme caution when visiting
this site.
A mile-long stretch of enigmatic ancient road - probably Roman but possibly later
or earlier - amid wild and beautiful moorland, still with its hard core and drainage
ditches.

Whorlton Castle -
The castle was originally a wooden keep with a motte and bailey. The existing
gatehouse was built in the 14th century by the Meynell family. The magnificent
gate house displays the family crests. Whorlton is a hamlet and civil parish
in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England. It is very near Swainby
and the A19, and 6 miles south west of Stokesley. Other feature - the Church

The Teapottery
Leyburn Business Park, Leyburn

The Teapottery makes handmade, collectable teapots at it's two centres in Leyburn, in the Yorkshire Dales, and Keswick, in the Lake District. Visitors are invited to watch the craftspeople at work and browse in the teapot shop.
At Leyburn refreshments are served, take tea from one of their unique teapots.
