Peatlands Country Park
Derryhubbert Road, Dungannon
Co. Tyrone , BT71 6NW

the first of its type in the British Isles. Established to promote and facilitate peatland awareness and issues. The peat has been forming for about 10,000 years. The site was acquired from the Irish Peat Development Company. Visitors can explore the 265ha site on foot along its many paths and wooden walkways. There are over 16km of paths leading you through the varied habitats. Visit the turbary site where visitors can get the feel (and the smell!) of cutting turf.

Open daily from 0900 - 2100 Easter Sun until the end of Sept and from 0900 - 1700 during the winter months. Please double check the signs for closing times on your arrival.

Admission is free!

The Peatlands Park narrow gauge Railway is a big attraction for the young and old. The locomotive can take up to 70 passengers at a time on a 1.5km journey through leafy tunnels and restored open bog. Two of the carriages have been specially adapted to take wheelchairs.
