Regrettably, there is no wheelchair access to the museum, but a visual guide is available at Abingdon Information Centre in Abbey Close.

Free Internet Access is available in the town centre via a hotspot. This is a wireless Internet connection that is available for the public to access the Internet and collect emails. You need to be in a location where CTS Wi-Fi Spot is available. Then you need to ensure you have a wireless-enabled device (laptop, PDA etc). The museum includes Tooley's historic boatyard which is viewed from the Oxford Canal waterside.

The boatyard is a working business operated by Tooley's Boatyard Ltd. Guided tours are are available on Saturdays from Easter at 15.00 but chargeable. Details from 01295 272917.

Bishop's Palace Site, Mount House, Church Green, Witney, OX28 6AZ

Bishop's Palace - The town of Witney owes its origin to the Bishop of Winchester. The Bishop's Palace site situated near to the Church on Church Green is one of 24 luxurious residencies in the diocese and dates from the 12th century. MAP

The archaeological remains of the great hall and other features are exposed under a modern roof and were discovered in the early 1980s.

There is a small interpretation centre with a model of the Palace at the height of its importance.

The Museum has displays in the oak-panelled, 16th century Old School Room in the Abbey Guest House and in the Abbey’s Cloister Gallery.
