Beacon Hill Country Park Near Woodhouse Eves, Loughborough, Leicestershire
Just to the south of Loughborough this free entry country park, with a car
parking charge (£1-50p in 2008), is part of The National Forest.
Consisting of heathland and woods, with the second highest point in Leicestershire
having great views. The summit toposcope, located above ancient earthworks, indicates
landmarks in all directions.

Belgrave Hall provides an oasis of peace and quiet in a busy city. The Hall was built between 1709 and 1713. Today, Belgrave Hall is a thriving museum where the visitor can discover the contrasting lifestyles of an upper middle class family and domestic servants in the Victorian and Georgian Room settings and beautiful walled botanic gardens. The Victorian Nursery, family music room and 18th century kitchen allow the visitor to step back in time.
During 1999 the Hall became famous for its ghostly goings-on and over the years there have been a number of unexplained paranormal events
Bradgate Country Park is probably Leicestershire's most visited country park.
With extensive areas of small woodlands, ancient trees, rocky outcrops and all
this with the chance of seeing herds of fallow or red deer too!

and indoor exhibits since 2004. The museum tells the story of the area since

Situated in the pleasant Queen's Park, Charnwood Museum features permanent
exhibitions that have been grouped into four areas: 'Coming to Charnwood', 'The
Natural World of Charnwood', 'Living off the Land' and 'Earning a Living'. Each
contain exhibits from the past and present including interactive displays.

Admission to Foxton Locks is FREE but visitor attractions in the vicinity
may charge admission.
Foxton Locks are managed by British Waterways and is part of the working canal
system. Please take care around water. There are 10 locks where you can watch
canal narrowboats and cruisers passing through daily.

Housed in the old corset factory in the centre of Market Harborough, the
Museum illustrates Market Harborough's role as a market, social and hunting centre
and a stagecoach post. Boot and shoemakers workshop. 17th century toys and much

bodice' - Symington Soups, Table Creams and Pea Flour - Local archaeology finds.

Loughborough Carillon and War Memorial Museum,

The first grand carillon in Britain. Home of a Museum of the Armed Forces.
A carillon is a stationary set of chromatically tuned bells in a tower, usually
played from a keyboard. The keyboard for the Loughborough Carillon is on the
third level floor, just below the bells.
Free admission to the Museum ground floor but a small charge to visit the
upper floors or climb the 138 steps to the top of the tower (60p - 2008), where
there are great views of the Charnwood Forest. Concessions FREE.
Entrance to the two upper rooms of the War Memorial Museum, the first being
dedicated primarily to the Leicestershire Yeomanry, are dependant on there being
two volunteers in station.
Open to the public every day from Good Friday to the 30th September.

The Manor House at Donington-Le-Heath

Woodhouse Eaves Windmill, Windmill Hill, Woodhouse Eaves, Leicestershire LE12 8SR
Windmill Hill is part of the National Forest with way marked paths. The Woodhouse Eaves Windmill is now the viewing platform for the Country Park all that remains is the stone-built 'roundhouse' that was the base of a former post mill that was destroyed by fire in 1945.
