A 650-acre country park opened to the public all year round, free of charge.
Following the scenic valley of the River Lostock where a picnic area has been provided along with a 10-mile network of footpaths, a cycle path and bridleway.
A restored Pinetum/American Garden and Victorian Walled Orchard and an archaeological excavation of Kem Mill bleach and dye works.
There is a visitor centre at The Barn, Berkeley Drive, Bamber Bridge, which is open 9.00am-5.00pm on weekdays.
From motorway junctions on M6 (28 & 29), M61 (8 & 9) and M65 (Western end), leading to car parks on A6, A49 and B5256.

Set in 350 acres of wood and parkland just north of Wigan, Haigh Country Park is a great place for a day out and it won't cost a fortune! Admission is Free and you only have to spend as you wish. There are also free attractions like the play area, Craft gallery and of course, the whole park is an adventure playground with loads of space for football, picnics and exploring the woods.
There is free entertainment every Sunday in Summer.

The Bouncy Castle, Model Village, etc, Ladybird ride are all around the play area and in the woods just down from the Hall is a 15" Railway to take you on a magical tour of the woods.

Park Bridge Heritage Centre, once splendid stables.Here you can find out how wrought iron was made and what it was like to live and to work at Park Bridge. In the Medlock Valley between Ashton and Oldham, Park Bridge was an early industrial settlement, based on an iron rolling mill and forge to provide parts for the cotton spinning trade and other industries.
