The mainly 12th Century Abbey is of almost cathederal proportions and is actually one of the largest parish churches in the UK.

Free Entry through the main doors although donations are most welcome.

Free Alleyways and Heritage Trails - Between the junction of the High Street and the A38 to Worcester South to Mill Street off Church Street.

Alleyways and Heritage Trails - We recommend that you purchase a 50p combined Trail Map from the Tourist Information Centre, High Street, Tewkesbury.

Tewkesbury Alleyway Trail - Tewkesbury is remarkable in the number of alleyways (originally 90) but 30 still remain.

Tewkesbury Heritage Trail - Highlights 16 of the ancient settlement whose profile has hardly changed since the Middle Ages!

Free History Trail - We recommend that you purchase a 30p Trail Map from the Tourist Information Centre, High Street, Tewkesbury.

The Walking Trail for The Battle of Tewkesbury 1471 starts at the Vineyards Pay & Display car park.

Head towards Tewkesbury Abbey - At the River Swilgate follow the left bank, downstream. Cross Gloucester Road into Lower Lode Lane. Follow the lane to the waymark sign on the left and into woodland to a stile. Cross the stile on to Bloody Meadow where you will find a commemorative plinth. By the plinth follow the steps up to Lincoln Green Lane - Cross the lane and take the steps down to a kissing gate. Go through the copse and cross the bridge. Re-cross Gloucester Road turn right and walk uphill to Abbots Road and along Abbots Walk alongside the cemetery to the top of a slope where you will find a monument. The path leads you back to the car park.
