Swanage Museum at the Tithe Barn

The late Tony Parsons presented the Tithe Barn to Swanage to create a museum and arts centre. The building is at least 300 years old. The exhibits relate to the town of Swanage and its history; they include a 1930’s Dispensing Chemists shop, a reconstruction of stone quarrying, a period grocer’s shop, the Calkin fossil and archaeological collection and maritime models.

Walford Mill Craft Centre
Stone Lane, Wimborne

Walford Mill Craft Centre is a converted mill 400 mtr north of the market town of Wimborne by the river Allen. The Centre has a gallery which has eight or so different exhibitions during the year and also offers the best of contemporary craft work for sale in the shop, particularly work produced in the local area.
There are a number of workshops on the site where craftsmen may usually be seen at work. These are silk weaving, stained glass and jewellery - these craftsmen all have work for sale as well as taking commissions.
Open daily from 1000 to 1700, 1200 to 1700 on Sun
(closed on Mon from Jan-Mar).
Admission is free.
The Centre has an adjacent car park and a licensed bistro and there are facilities for disabled visitors.
