The historic Godolphin Estate - The landscape and ancient estate offer extensive walks and fine views over the west of Cornwall. There are 400 recorded archaeological features ranging from Bronze Age enclosures to 19th Century mine buildings.

Visitors are advised to take a torch each.
The word Fogou or Fougou as it can also be spelt, derives from 'fogo' which
was the Cornish word for cave. A fogou (pronounced "foo-goo") is an
underground structure which is found in many Iron Age defended settlements throughout
northern Europe including Cornwall. The purpose of such 'fogous' is truly unknown.
Refuges, storage chambers or ritual shrines have all been suggested.
English Heritage control Halliggye Fogou. Roofed and walled in stone, this
complex of passages is the largest and best-preserved of several mysterious underground
tunnels associated with Cornish Iron Age settlements.
Free entry to the fogou but there is a parking fee (Free to EH members producing
a membership card)
Entry to the rest of the Trelowarren Estate is charged.
