Previously a Victorian mill owners house, Bankfield is a great museum with
a growing reputation as a centre for textiles and local contemporary craft.
Bankfield houses an internationally important collection of textiles, plus
some weird and wonderful objects from around the rest of the world.
There are also commissioned textile pieces created by leading makers there
is much to see and enjoy, such as the Toy Gallery and the Marble Gallery.
Bankfield Museum has a varied programme of temporary exhibitions and cultural
events.
Home to The Duke of Wellington’s Regimental Museum too.

Bedford Museum, Castle Lane, Bedford, MK40 3XD
Housed in the former Higgins and Son Brewery, Bedford Museum is situated
within the picturesque gardens of Bedford Castle, beside the Great Ouse
Embankment.
Bedford Museum is located close to town centre car parks and a short walk
from Allhallows Bus Station and Midland Road Railway Station.
FREE for ALL on FRIDAYS; FREE after 1600 Tuesday - Thursday
FREE for Children (under 18s), 60 plus, Bedford Leisure Card holders and
concessions
At all other times Adults: £2.20* (Adult annual ticket £8.80*)
*The admission price and adult annual ticket also give you entry to the
Cecil Higgins Art Gallery
Bunyan Museum
Mill Street, Bedford, MK40 3EU
The Museum and Church are on Mill Street in the centre of Bedford. Car
and coach parking is available in Castle Lane, next to the museum.
The museum is 5 minutes walk from the bus station and 15 minutes walk
from Bedford railway station.

The Cecil Higgins Museum

This was the original home of Cecil Higgins, a local brewer. It has an
important collection of ceramics and glass.
