The Burrell Collection

Sir William Burrell and his wife, Constance, Lady Burrell, gifted his collection
of over 9,000 works of art to Glasgow, the city acquired one of the greatest
collections.

Fossil Grove
Victoria Park, Glasgow,
G14 1BN
An ancient forest, around 330 million years old. Scottish National Heritage has
designated the grove a site of Special Scientific Interest. These fossilised
tree stumps were discovered in 1887 when an old quarry was being landscaped

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum Argyle Street, Glasgow,G3 8AG
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is Scotland's most visited free attraction.
Kelvingrove has 22 themed, state-of-the-art galleries displaying an astonishing 8000 objects.
The collections are extensive, wide-ranging and internationally-significant. They include: natural history, arms and armour, art from many art movements and periods of history, and much more.
They even have a real Spitfire!
Kelvingrove welcomes families with children, and its displays have been designed with children in mind. There are lots of interactives throughout the museum that will appeal to younger audiences.
The RBS Exhibition Gallery and the community exhibition space both have a running programme of temporary exhibitions and displays.

While not a museum as such, much of this magnificent example of Mackintosh's early work is open to the public, while other parts are now used as offices for
Glasgow Museums staff. Inside the building you can admire the fine tile work and spectacular roof trusses. The iron work of the balconies is particularly
fine. The exterior is distinguished by the balance of the walls and windows, and the detailing of the red sandstone.
Please note: Martyrs' School is now open by appointment only.

The People’s Palace, set in historic Glasgow Green, tells the story of the people and city of Glasgow from 1750 to the end of the 20th century.
Explore the city’s social history through a wealth of historic artefacts, paintings, prints and photographs, film and interactive computer displays. Get a wonderful insight into how Glaswegians lived, worked and played in years gone by.
In the adjacent Winter Gardens you can wander among the exotic palms and plants or enjoy a coffee or lunch at the café. Outside, you can admire the restored Doulton Fountain and relax in the attractive surroundings of Glasgow Green, the oldest public space in Glasgow.
